WOT 4
(Model No. 22)

This shows how the model originally looked. But unfortunately it suffered early damage so the covering had to be 'modified' quite early in it's flying career!

This model had two crashes and the wings were damaged in both of them. After the first crash the coloured circles were applied to hide the repairs. The multi-coloured stripes on the leading edge of the wing hide damage sustained during the second crash. The first crash came at the end of its very first flight and the tail-group was broken-off, as well as the wing damage, as a result of an out-field, downwind, emergency landing. This was necessitated when a dead engine (just after take-off) coincided with the strip being “occupied” by other pilots and their planes

The second crash was totally self-inflicted – I forgot to tighten the elevator servo output arm retaining screw after replacing the servo. The ensuing “big” crash demolished the front of the plane right back to the leading edge of the wing . . . . and part of the wing back to the main spar too (own built-up wing - the original foam core wing remained almost un-used and "as new" so was later used on another Wot4)

Various engines have been tested on this model and it is currently fitted with an ASP .61 4-stroke
