PRECEDENT FUNFLY
(Model No. 34)
This was a very sweet-flying plane which flew as though on rails. It was a lovely model to fly, either the right way up or inverted, and it recovered from any aerobatically-contrived situation immediately it was asked
I built all the control surfaces with 1/4" extra chord and built the tank hatch and canopy as one piece for a neater appearance
The Newcastle United livery came about when my wife presented me with a model of Alan Shearer which she got from a packet of tea right when the model was ready to be covered. It was about the correct scale, so Alan became the pilot and needed to have the right coloured plane to fly
As seen above it was fitted with a .46 MDS engine, but this proved very unreliable and was soon changed for a superb Irvine .53 engine. The model suffered no crashes - although it landed itself on one occasion when the receiver refused to listen to the transmitter . . . . without any damage whatsoever! (definitely one of my luckier days)
